Kawasaki Precision Machinery UK

The name Kawasaki is probably best known for motor bikes, however at the Plymouth UK manufacturing site the company makes the hydraulic pumps and motors used within the maritime, mobile and industrial sectors. Some of their most well-known clients are JCB, Caterpillar, John Deere and Volvo.

STEM related Job Roles at Kawasaki include; Production Engineers, Process Engineers, Application Engineers, Quality Engineers, Product Development Engineers, CNC Machine Setter/Operators, Quality Technicians.

Apprenticeship Opportunities: Usually 3 per year.

At Kawasaki, there are a number of Managers, Team Leaders, Engineers and Technicians who joined our business as apprentices at 16 or 18 have developed their skills into substantial technical and managerial professional roles in the business. To be successful in an apprenticeship application you will need up to 5 GCSE’s at grade 5 or above but these must include English, Maths and 1 Science subject.

Work Experience – Limited places for work experience are usually available in June and July each year however you will need to apply early as the company receives more applications than they are able to accommodate.

Undergraduate Placements – These are advertised via the Careers Office at Plymouth University – placements are typically 9 months in duration in a technical area of the business.
