Burts
Burts produce a range of award-winning snacks; Premium Potato Chips, Lentil Waves, and Popcorn. All in various flavours such as Firecracker Lobster, Devon Roast Beef, Thai Sweet Chilli, Sweet and Salty.
Burts took its name from the company founders, Richard Thomas Burt & his wife Linda. In 1995, the couple set out on a mission to create the perfect hand cooked crisp. After two years of taste testing they found the perfect combination of thickness and seasoning and set the ground rules that Burts crisps would be thick-cut and will be entirely free from artificial additives and preservatives.
At their factory in the outskirts of Plymouth, Burts’ famous thick cut potato chips are carefully hand-cooked and seasoned with the best flavours around to achieve a “real taste and a proper crunch”.
Burts snacks are stocked in various retailers across the UK, including independent café’s, delis and farm shops, as well as selected Morrisons, Asda and Coop stores across Devon.

However Burts use the original name ‘chips’ to highlight the premium thick-cut style of their crisps.
Burts is a story of success - they began life back in 1997 with a small team of just six people, since then, they've grown to a team of 300 staff with a turnover of £44 million!
On a weekly basis Burts can make up over 200 tonnes of finished product.
