More about HellermannTyton's Products

Cable Management and Protection

Cable management is an essential part of work for electricians, control cabinet engineers, facility managers, and even DIY fans. Efficient cable management products can make cables “invisible”, reduce risk of injury and save space at the same time. You may have seen these cable wraps in your own home too!

With these products, it’s easy to route cables in different directions, branch off cables, protect cables and eliminate trip hazards with the cable wraps.

The blue wrap you see here is made from plastic and metal and is used in catering and food manufacturers. Why Blue? It’s important to not mix up food and any non-food materials – food is hardly ever blue so its always easy to spot. The metal structure also means it’s easy to detect with detection equipment too.

Heat Shrinkable Tubes and Shapes

What is heat shrink tubing?

Heat shrinking means: The process of applying heat, for example using an electric or gas heat gun, to shrink expanded plastic tubing or shapes down to its original size.  HellermanTyton can supply tubes and shapes in an expanded size (wider dimension) so that cables can easily be pulled through them before the tube is heat-shrunk to its original size, surrounding the cables and protecting them.

Heat shrinking is used in various industries and applications – for instance to insulate and protect cables against heat, chemicals or water. Watch this video with staff at HellermannTyton to see how heat shrink tubing works .

Cable Ties

As one of the leading UK manufacturers of cable ties and fixing elements, HellermannTyton sets the standards in the manufacturing of inside and outside serrated cable ties, releasable cable ties and cable ties without serration.

Take a look at the Yellow Cable Tie – this is a Cable Koala which was designed for use in hospitals. A soft and flexible material called TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer) is used for the ease of fastening the cables to metal surfaces and  smooth surface aids the prevention of bacteria build-up that the recesses on regular cable ties can potentially trap. There are magnets at each end of the tie which means the cable can be released and moved easily according to a patient’s and the ward’s needs.
