The Cornwall Bakery is a Savoury Pastry Centre of Excellence based in Callington, Cornwall. It is a large scale manufacturer of fresh chilled foods, focusing on savoury pastry pies, savoury slices, pasties and rolls.
The company’s biggest customer is their sister company Ginsters, but they also supply own label products to most major supermarkets.
Amongst various prestigious honours, in 2016 the Cornwall Bakery was named as Manufacturing Company of the Year in the Food Manufacture Excellence Awards. They are committed where possible to using British ingredients and sourcing from local farms.
The Cornwall Bakery is part of Samworth Brothers, which is a fourth generation family business with a range of businesses and brands, operating from modern food manufacturing and retail sites across the UK.
Apprenticeships cover all disciplines with employees studying in the following areas: Finance, Procurement / Supply Chain, Personnel, Engineering, Operations, Food Technical, Professional Drivers, Chef and Cookery, Leadership & Management, Health, Safety & Environmental
Work Experience Opportunities: 1 week placement available for those of the aged 14 to 17 years usually in July to coincide with the local school schedule.
